White Russian Mulberry (Morus alba tatarica) This mulberry is a cold hardy Russian variety, first introduced to North America by Russian Mennonites in the late 1800s. These berries are sweet, but less so than red varieties. Wonderful to cook with or to dry for winter use.
The trees are quite lovely, reaching 30 feet. Unpicked berries are a great food source for wild birds.
