Broadleaf Batavian Endive grows as a large leafed, head forming leafy green, with a mild yet slightly bitter flavour. Heads are quite compact with a pale yellow to white center. Broadleaf varieties are also known as Escarole, significantly less bitter than their fine-leaf endive cousins. Broadleaf Batavian Endive will make a great addition to your garden this Summer, adding depth to your salad mixes!
