Chives

Chives (Allium schoenoprasum) are bulb-forming herbaceous perennial plants that grow to about 30–50 cm (12–20 inches) tall.The grass-like leaves are hollow and tubular, shorter than the stems. Chives produce pale purple, star-shaped flowers.

These edible leaves and flowers have a mild onion flavor and are commonly used in culinary dishes, salads, soups, and sauces. Additionally, chives are known for their ability to repel insects.
